Today we were introduced to drones. Explain the importance of drones within today’s society and how drones could impact the future.
Today I learned how to fly a drone. It’s hard to control them. It needs a lot of practice to learn how to fly them. Today I also had a tour around the fab lab and the drone classroom where students fix drones and learn about drones. In the fab lab there is different kinds of 3D printers. I learned some vocabulary about drones, RPAS – (Remotely Piloted Aircraft System) : includes the aircraft along with the ground control station, telemetry and communications systems, launch and landing equipment, sensors and other hardware and software used to operate the aircraft, sUAS – (Small Unmanned Aircraft System) : used for classifying UAVs weighting less than 25Kg (55 lb), and •UAV – (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) : used for classifying unmanned aircraft with a weight of more than 25Kgs (55 lb). Some jobs require drone expertise such as, delivery, search and rescue, film making and photography, mapping/surveying, security/surveillance, military, agriculture, civil engineering/structural inspection, and fire fighting.
